When Sarah first visited Balsall Common Dental Practice she knew her gums were not healthy.
She had been attending a different practice for many years but kept being told that there was nothing they could do.
At Balsall Common Dental Practice we helped Sarah to take control of her gum disease and her condition is now very well controlled.

How do dental implants work?
Dental implants work by giving you a titanium substitute for your tooth root.
We’ll drill a hole where it’s needed, and then secure the implant; if the original tooth needs removing first, this can often be done at the same time.
Over time, bone tissue will grow, helping to make your new implant strong and stable. After about two months, your implant will be fully integrated into your mouth, giving you rock solid teeth that look, feel and behave exactly as you’d want them to.

I recently had restorative work done on my upper and lower front teeth, followed by three implants to fill spaces in my upper back jaw by Dr Ashley Davenport at Balsall Common Dental Practice. This extensive dental work was carried out over a period of several months as the restorative work and implants required time to integrate and complete.
All through the treatment I was kept fully informed and briefed on progress and next steps. The treatment itself was pain-free, although long and naturally sometimes uncomfortable. Dr Davenport and his staff were always most solicitous and reassuring.
I have been most impressed with the final results. For the first time in years, I no longer have gaps visible when I smile but, more importantly, I can now chew food with much increased efficiency. I have been most impressed with how much improved my front teeth appear, and with how natural and efficient the implants are in appearance and function.

I absolutely cannot recommend Cathy, Ashley and the staff highly enough. I am the most petrified patient ever and didn't attend a dentist for years . But now I'm getting ready to have implants and this is only down to them making me at ease and going the extra mile to explain everything. Still scared but know I'm in safe hands
Update - I was very scared and didn't know what t expect going in for my implants but was so surprised and pleased that I have gone ahead as I really was not in any pain at all, the procedure was explained to me in detail and the pain relief after was managed with over the counter painkillers, Thank you to Cathy for getting me over my fear and to the stage where this is possible, thank you Ashley for getting me through the implant process and thanks to the dental nurses for making me feel at ease and you were right Kirsty it really wasn't that bad !
If anyone is considering any dentistry including implants this really is the only place to go.
Update - had me wonderful new implants fitted with no trouble at all and they look fantastic. I now have more confidence and feel so much better. Thanks to all the team for your care and patience.

Jamie had a 'congenitally absent' upper front tooth which is 'dentist speak' for a tooth that never grew.
Jamie needed fixed brace treatment first to move his teeth to the correct positions and to open a space For a replacement tooth.
When the brace treatment was finished a dental implant was placed in the upper space and restored with a crown to replace the missing tooth.
Finally bonded retainer (a wire glued to the backs of the teeth) was added to keep the teeth in their straight positions.
